Edith Pauline Tibbs Sood, known lovingly as Pauline, passed away on June 9, 2026, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, at the age of 47.

Pauline was born on June 22, 1978, in Linden, Tennessee, and was the beloved daughter of Jerry and Retha Reeves Tibbs, and she grew into a woman whose life was marked by kindness, generosity, and love. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who met others with a smile, a gentle heart, and a spirit that made people feel welcome and cared for.

Pauline devoted much of her working life to serving others. She spent 12 years at Walmart in customer service, where her friendly nature and dependable presence made her a valued part of the team. She also worked as a Spark driver and as a cashier at Dollar Tree, always approaching her work with dedication and a willingness to help. Her strong work ethic and pleasant manner left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

Family was at the center of Pauline’s life. She was the loving mother of Darbi Ganus (Jessie Prueitt), Conner Sood, and Christian Ganus and his wife, Mya. She will also be remembered by her daughter of the heart Hannah Richards, a role she cherished deeply. Pauline held a special bond with her siblings, Ima Jean Cox and her husband, Everett, and Marie Brothers. She was also dearly loved by her nephews Cannan Brothers, Turtle Brothers, Alex Sood and his wife, Sarah, Johnathan Sood, and Nathaniel Sood, as well as her nieces Kayla Smith and her husband, Rufus, Elizabeth Brothers, and Lorrel Sood. Pauline treasured her grandchildren of the heart, August, Millie, Zoey, Zavier, Phoenix, Tony, Jamie, and Oliver, and she embraced each of them with affection and pride. She was also blessed with the love and friendship of Melanie Sood, her best friend, along with a host of family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Pauline was known for the simple joys that made her life special. She loved reading and found comfort and enjoyment in the pages of a good book. She also had a fondness for collecting turtle memorabilia, a hobby that reflected her gentle spirit and the things that brought her happiness. She was always smiling, and her joyful presence could brighten a room. Pauline was a great cook, and many will remember the meals she prepared with love and the time she spent gathering with those closest to her. Above all else, she treasured spending time with her family, and those moments were among the most meaningful of her life.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at First Methodist Church beginning at 10:00 am. Adair Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements. https://www.adairfuneralservices.com
