Elizabeth “Aliene” Wright, 82 of Columbia, passed away at her home on Friday, September 10, 2021.
On Christmas of 1938, she was born to the late Murvil and Wilma Irwin. Aliene worked as a receptionist in healthcare. She was a proud Christian and attended the Church of God of Prophecy. Aliene loved her family, never met a stranger, and would talk to anyone. She was always happy, especially while working in her garden and cross-stitching.
Aliene was preceded in death by her: parents, Murvil Lamar Irwin and Wilma Simmons Irwin; husband, R.T. Wright; brother, M.L. Irwin; and sister, Irene Irwin.
She is survived by her: sons, Darrell (Penny) Lee and Greg Lee; stepson, Wayne (Angie) Wright; stepdaughter, Margaret Wright; grandsons, Jason (Jessie) Chewning and Chris Chewning; two great-grandsons; and sister, Linda Maples.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 11:00 am at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Lawrence Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Pallbearers for the service will be Tim Lee, Kasyn Doggett, Charlie Lee, Colton Wilson, Wayne Wright, and Tyler Shell.
