Fred Stephon Duke, age 61, was born on June 28, 1961, and was the son of the late Fred E. Duke and the late Ernestine Duke. He gained his wings on August 28, 2022, surrounded by family.
He was educated through the Maury County Public School System in Mt. Pleasant, TN. He worked at Tennessee Aluminum Processors for several years before moving on to Landmark Ceramics for the past six years. Fred gave his life to the Lord and was baptized on August 14, 2022, joining New Day Community Church. He was a loving and devoted brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was the oldest son of ten children and was preceded in death by his sister Terrie Akins.
Fred leaves to testify the glory of the Lord to his brother Chris Duke (Melissa) of Mt. Pleasant, his sisters Marie Hopkins of Columbia, Brunetta Owens, Cynthia Armstrong, Bridgete Webster, Kesa Duke, Cathy Duke all of Mt. Pleasant and Daphne Duke of Columbia, three loving aunts Patricia Duke of Columbia, Joyce Owens of Columbia, and Lucille Waire of Detroit, MI. One devoted and loving uncle Clifford “Big Brother” Owens of Columbia, a dedicated cousin Phyllis Reynolds of Columbia and a host of nephews, great nephews, great-great nephews, nieces, great nieces, great-great nieces, cousins, a loyal brother-in-law Johnny Akins, a special and dedicated friend, Alice Burks, and a Goddaughter, Keely Pillow.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Marcus K. Duke officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Fred’s nephews and brother-in-law will serve as pallbearers, and his nieces will serve as flower girls. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
