Born on March 13, 1991, he was the son of Chester “Chet” Allen Rhodes and Michaele Cheuvront Rhodes. He worked for his Dad at Rhodes Engineering & Environmental Services. Garrett was always easy-going – never hard to please and content in the smallest joys of life. He brought smiles to the faces of everyone who knew him. We are very proud of Him and all he was able to accomplish on this Earth. He taught us valuable lessons of patience and unconditional love, and constantly reminded us of the blessings we have and often take for granted. Garrett lived in the present, never worried about the past or the future. He experienced the fullness of each moment and helped others around him do the same. Garrett loved the Lord. He forever said and signed “Jesus loves me” – of course always followed with a big smile and laugh. He accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized. His faith was genuine and he always sought to mend the wrongs he had made. His apologies were always sincere and followed by tears of regret. He knew how to love and how to ask for forgiveness. He knew he had been forgiven and saved by Jesus Christ. We are thankful to know that Garrett is now experiencing the fullness of Christ’s presence.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Spencer Avery (Tricia) Rhodes of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Grace Abigail (Chad) Bullington of Memphis, Tennessee, Evan Bishop Rhodes of Memphis, Tennessee, and Mason Bennett Rhodes of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Felding Emory Rhodes.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Rhodes, Bishop Rhodes, Mason Rhodes, Chad Bullington, Matthew Hampton, and Lance Rhodes.
