Katherine Norris Hanes 80, homemaker and resident of Williamsport, died Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at NHC Columbia.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Wilson Jenkins, Brother Dennis Tidwell, and her nephew, Gary Hanes officiating. Burial will follow in Hanes Cemetery in the Leatherwood Community. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 3:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born December 16, 1940 in Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Conner Hanes and the late Hattie Davis Hanes.
Miss Hanes enjoyed drawing, puzzle books, reading her Bible, and taking care of her animals. She was a member of Jones Valley Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sisters, Imogene Rye of Erin; Joyce Capenter of Clarksville; Dell Hines of the Leatherwood Community; brothers, O’Neil (Rachel) Hanes of the Leatherwood Community; Minor (Reesie) Hanes of Primm Springs; Arnold (Mary) Hanes of the Leatherwood Community; Aaron Hanes of the Leatherwood Community; sister-in-law, Maggie Hanes of Culleoka; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur Hanes and Keith Hanes.
Active pallbearers will be Gary Hanes, Chad Hanes, Britt Hanes, Bryan Hanes, Michael Hanes, and Stephen Hanes.
