Melba Ann “Judy” Adams Anderson, age 85, a resident of Mount Pleasant, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 7, 2022, after a brief illness.

Judy was born in Maury County on July 12, 1936, to Wilbur and Maggie Henson Adams and was a graduate of Haylong High School, Class of 1954. She married James C. Anderson in 1954, worked for the Board of Education for many years, volunteered at Phosphate Museum, and was a member of the Volunteer Singers. She was retired from Mount Pleasant Manufacturing. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ.

Judy is survived by her son James “Randy” (Mary Kelly) Anderson, sister, Mamie Burgess, and brother, Carlos (Bettie) Adams. She has five grandchildren, Ryan (Jenny) Anderson, Kirk (Mikala) Anderson, Katie (Nate) Anderson Modderman, Emily Anderson, and Grace Anderson, and seven great-grandchildren, Nathan Anderson, Kierra, Breydon, Jacob and Chloe Anderson, Liliana Gonzalez and Grant Modderman.

In addition to her husband and parents, Judy was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Reese Anderson, and sisters, Bernice Adams Follis, Catherine Adams Gammons and Margaret Adams Anderson.

Her family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Heritage Funeral Home. Per her wishes, there will be a graveside service on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Polk Memorial Gardens with Danny Douglas officiating. Pallbearers will be Kirk Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Nate Modderman, Allen Lovett, Kenny Lovett, and Chad Howell.
