Mr. Milton Charles Prowell, age 75, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Born on March 31, 1947, in Davidson County, Tennessee, Milton was the son of the late Willie Gabriel Prowell and the late Mary Elizabeth Douglas Prowell.

He was a 1965 graduate of Carver Smith High School and worked several years for Monsanto Chemical Company. He was a lifetime board-certified licensed horticulturist for approximately fifty years. A true outdoorsman, Milton’s biggest hobbies were fishing and catching turtles. He also enjoyed cooking ox tails and turtles.

He was sports enthusiast who loved watching football, especially the Tennessee Titans. Milton never met a stranger and was a very friendly and outgoing person. He was a member of New Town Church of Christ. Milton’s favorite color was red, and he lived by his favorite saying “Joy and Happiness.”

He is survived by his wife, Linda Fleming of Columbia, daughter, Comedra Miltonya Prowell of Tullahoma, and uncle, Saint Clair Lockridge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alonzo, Richard, and Profeto Prowell.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 1:00 PM with Bro. Henry Clay Webster officiating and Rev. Randy Webster providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be David “Pokey” Baugh, Harold “Spudnick” Whitaker, Keith “KD” Davis, Johnathan Braden, Charles Tanner, and Duane Burks. Honorary pallbearers will include, Charles McFall, Walter Mitchell, Roger Mitchell, James Redding, Thomas Robinson, Dale Sanford, Richard Wyatt, Donnell Davis, Chris Poynter, Trenton Poynter, Jeremy Poynter, Clint Keene, and Clinton Keene.
