Noel-Jimmie-Polston

Noel Jimmie Polston, affectionately known as Jim to his friends and family, was someone of love, kindness, and creativity throughout his 82 years of life. Born on December 4, 1942, in Council Bluff, Iowa, to the late Noel and Dema Polston, Jim grew up with a profound sense of dedication and an infectious zest for life. His journey came to a peaceful end on February 7, 2025, in Columbia, Tennessee.

Jim’s memory is carried on by his cherished children, Anna Buck and Karl Polston (Chelsea); his brother, Robert Polston; his adoring seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, with the joy of another expected to join the family soon. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda Polston, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with laughter and love.

Dedication and hard work were the cornerstones of Jim’s career. He spent 39 years as a building and bridge engineer, contributing his expertise and passion to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. His commitment to his craft extended beyond his professional duties as he was an active member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way, where he formed lasting friendships and upheld the values of the organization with pride.

Jim’s personal interests were as dynamic as his personality. He had an unparalleled love for cars, Harleys, and auto racing. His hands were those of a creator, and he found joy in rebuilding classic cars, a hobby that allowed him to express his creative side and share his knowledge with fellow enthusiasts. His garage was not just a place of work but a sanctuary where stories, laughter, and memories were made.
