Mr. Ricky Dale Pruitt, age 62, husband of Shirley Faye Heaton Pruitt, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at his residence.
Born on April 30, 1959, in Maury County, Ricky was the son of the late Donald E. Pruitt and the late Lucille Martin Pruitt.
He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and worked for twenty-five years for General Motors. He also worked for his brother, Mike Pruitt, at Pruitt Custom Cabinets. Ricky was great with his hands and could build just about anything, and he loved riding his motorcycle with his wife. He had a special love for his beloved Miniature Spitz, Sheba, and above all, loved spending time with his grandchildren. Ricky was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepson, Jeff (Tina) Gilley of Bell Buckle, TN, stepdaughter, Jill (Michael) Adams of Christiana, TN, brothers, Mike (Melody) Pruitt of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Ronnie (Darlene) Pruitt of Columbia, TN, brother in law, John Williams of Pulaski, TN, grandchildren, Brittain, Brandon, Jesson, Hunter, Cary, Jonnathon, Nicky, Brandon Levi, Jasper, Jack Aiden, Coltin, and Kelley, and great-grandchildren, Jaydom, Christopher, and Kayson.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sherrie Williams, and brother, Roger Pruitt.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jim Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Ricky’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
