Robert “Bob” Miller, age 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by family Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

Bob was born July 12, 1938, in Flint, Michigan to Laurence and Rosetta Miller.

Bob grew up in Flint, Michigan it was there he graduated from Flint central high school. Bob would spend the rest of his life working diligently at every position he would hold. He spent 8 years with the National Guard and worked for many years at A&P and Taystee Bread. Once he moved and settled in Tennessee Bob worked with Ace Hardware for quite some time and spent the last decade of his life working with Williams Funeral Home. It’s important to note that although Bob relocated to Tennessee, he always bled blue for the Michigan Wolverines.

Whatever Bob did he did with his whole heart. He was an absolutely dedicated Christian Man. He loved his Lord and served him to the best of his ability. Bob spent numerous years at Dartmouth Missionary Church and Faith Missionary Church in Flint and over 25 years at Grace Nazarene. Bob served as Sunday School Superintendent and member of the board at Dartmouth, Faith, and Grace. More often than not, Bob was the first face one would see on Sunday mornings at Grace as he greeted people with a smile and a warm hello. There was also Brown City Camp, a missionary church camp that Bob attended every year since the age of three. He ran security for the camp there annually over the last several decades.

Bob, most of all was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved his family deeply and did everything he could to provide for them. Including raising his granddaughter Laci as a daughter. Bob was an endlessly positive person. He always tried to look on the bright side of things or was ready to give a word of comfort and encouragement to anyone. There was no better example of how a man should conduct himself. Bob was an exceptional person and his life blessed so many others throughout his life.

Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years Renee Miller; children: Robert (Nancy) Roy Miller, Ronald (Joanne) Miller, Michelle Thompson, Paula Miller, Laure Burt, and Melissa “Mojo” Miller; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Prior to funeral services Thursday, there is a visitation time from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Grace Nazarene. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Grace Church of the Nazarene in Columbia, Tennessee with Bryce Fox and Jason Caddy officiating.
