Mary Ethel Endsley

Mrs. Mary Ethel Adams Endsley, 88, long-time resident of Columbia, died Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Wayne Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Endsley will be conducted Friday, August 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Short Cemetery in the Spring Place Community of Marshall County. The family will visit with friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Born at home on May 29, 1933 in the Possum Trot Community of Marshall County. She was the daughter of the late Solon Bryan Adams and the late Tishie Mae Cole Adams. On March 7, 1953 she married George August Endsley who preceded her in death on August 9, 2015. Mrs. Endsley was a homemaker and a private sitter. She enjoyed gardening, canning, hummingbirds, and loved taking care of and raising all kinds of animals. Mrs. Endsley was a member of the Scribner’s Mill Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Endsley Baker (fiancé Terry Johnson) of Columbia and Cindy Endsley (Jo Hanselman); son, Tony (Phyllis) Endsley of Columbia; sister, Joan Endsley of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Angie (Jeff) Roberts, Jeremy (Ashlee) Baker, Brooke (Travis) Hensley; Ben (Jennifer) Endsley, Eric (Ashley) Endsley; Elliott (Meghann) Endsley; Paige Bottoms and Kasey Endsley. twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard Adams, Everette Adams, Boyd Adams, and Doyle Adams; sister, Melba Adams.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Baker, Ben Endsley, Eric Endsley, Elliott Endsley, Jeff Roberts, and Travis Hensley. Honorary pallbearers will be Norris Endsley, Kim Hobbs, Shane Hobbs, Dr. Shawn & Sheena Gentry, Kim Sullivan, Linda Potts, Richard & Peggy Yates, Bobby Jo & Ruth Norman, David & Nancy Edminston, Todd & Wendy Campbell, Ruby Rogers, Leslie & Tim Morton, and Mary & Sarah Mash.

Special thanks to Amber Moser and all sitters and all doctors, nurses, and staff at Wayne Medical Center.
