Ronald (Ron) Gilbert of Columbia TN passed away on July 27th, 2021.
Ronald was born in Meridian, Mississippi on September 12th, 1944, to the late Russell and Francis Gilbert.
Ronald retired as Wilson County Finance director after 40 years working in state and county government.  He grew up in Mississippi and moved to Dresden, TN after serving in the US Army from 1969-71.  After raising his family in Dresden, he and Amelia moved to the Middle TN area and ultimately settled in Columbia. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Columbia and loved his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 53 years Amelia Gilbert, sons Jim (Regina) Gilbert and Brian (Mindy) Gilbert, granddaughters April Travis and Amie Beth Alva, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Anita Yeatman.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
