Steve Walker, Sr., age 72, passed away on January 20, 2025, in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Born on January 29, 1952, to the late Eddie Walker and Sarah Jones Walker Brannon, Steve was a man of great character who lived life on his terms, touching countless lives along the way.
A proud Tennessean, Steve was a devoted fan of UT football and the Atlanta Braves, rarely missing a game. He found peace and joy in the great outdoors, especially in fishing and hunting, passions he lovingly passed on to his son. A man of deep Christian faith, Steve often reminded his children to “Leave your worries to God,” words of wisdom they will carry forever.
Steve was a collector of old coins and guns, appreciating the history and stories they held. Known for his gift of gab, he was a true people person who never met a stranger. Steve marched to the beat of his own drum, embodying authenticity and charm in everything he did.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Walker; his children, Steve (Suzette) Walker, Jr. and Brandy (David) Moffo; grandchildren, Gunner Moffo, Wade Walker, and Brittany Walker-Crabtree; and his great-granddaughters, Harper Crabtree and Hannah Faye. He also leaves behind his brother, Kenneth Walker, and a legacy of love and laughter.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joann Walker Sands.
