Walter Fariss Grimes, age 91, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2021.
He will always be remembered as a generous, kindhearted, humorous man, who never met a stranger. He served two years in the military. He was known as the “Co-op man” and managed the Maury County Co-op for 42 years. He was also a dedicated member of the Lions Club for 40+ years. He was of Methodist faith and a member of Hampshire United Methodist Church for 60+ years.

Fariss loved his family and had a great passion for animals. He was known for his talents in wood carving canes, knives, and antique cars, which are displayed at Mt. Pleasant Museum. Fariss was always willing to help someone in need and loved spending time with his family and friends.
