Sarah Gale Lovell Ray, age 79, a resident of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and again on Sunday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on October 14, 1941, in Maury County, Sarah was the daughter of the late Felix Lovell and the late Hester Russell Lovell. She worked many years for CPS Industries in Franklin before retiring in 1987 and was recently an avid volunteer at Lincoln County Hospital. A strong, family-oriented woman, Sarah was the rock and foundation of her family. She loved music and enjoyed dancing. She was of the Methodist faith and often enjoyed going to church. Sarah was loved by many and will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Lisa (George) Chapman of Columbia, Debbie Lovell of Columbia, Teresa (Don) Denton of Fayetteville, brother, Jimmy (Joyce) Lovell of Columbia, sisters, Kaye Cheek of Columbia, Janice (Thomas) Poteete of Lewisburg, grandchildren, Maria Harris, Whitney (Mitch) McDannald, Wendy Fisher, and great-grandchildren, Aydian Wise, Steven Harris, Jr., Amelia Harris, Wynter McDannald, Owen McDannald, Amber Ozment, and Steven Fisher, Jr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Ingram.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Lovell, Donnie Lovell, Ricky Lovell, Jimmy Campbell, Chevy White, and Cody Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will include Gary Wise, Billy Jones, Jr., Don Denton, Charlie Fann, Mitch McDannald, George Chapman, and Jason Lovell.
