Columbia and Maury County are seeing significant benefits from a steady rise in tourism, with new visitor spending helping support local services and reduce costs for residents.

City officials highlighted that visitors brought more than $137 million to Maury County businesses in 2024 through shopping, dining, lodging, and entertainment. That activity generated millions in local tax revenue, easing the financial load on families. According to the city, the impact translated into a savings of $339 for each Maury County household last year.

Tourism remains one of Tennessee’s strongest economic engines, and local leaders say every visitor who chooses Columbia helps strengthen the community. The continued growth in travel and tourism supports jobs, boosts small businesses, and contributes to long-term investments that benefit residents.
