About Mt. Pleasant High School

Mt. Pleasant High School is located in the small, rural community of Mt. Pleasant in Maury County, in southern middle Tennessee. As a result of desegregation, Hay Long High School and Clarke High School were combined to form Mt. Pleasant High School. The first graduating class of Mt. Pleasant High School was the 1970-71 school year. In the year 2000, Mt. Pleasant High School had 700 students in grades sixth through twelve. The school grew and a middle school was built to house grades 5-8. Mt. Pleasant High School began housing 9th through 12th grade students in 2001.
