Columbia Celebrates: Field Dedication, Rotarian Gift, Retirements & More

Columbia City Council made the following mentions and recognitions during this week’s City Council meeting.

  • City Council dedicated the Championship Field at Ridley Sports Complex in honor of the former City of Columbia Mayor Dean Dickey.
  • Columbia Noon Rotary donated a freestanding clock to the City Parks and Recreation Department valued at $20,000 commemorating the organization’s 100th birthday.
  • City Council was honored to present Sherry Sheeter with her retirement plaque for almost 23 years of service to the City.
  • Council presented Officer Carl Shrake with his retirement plaque. Officer Carl Shrake has been with the Columbia Police Department for 28 years.
  • Muletown Bearded Axe owner Joshua Ranes donated $1,005 to Columbia Fire & Rescue for the purchase of a high expansion foam pro/pak.
