Carolyn Biffle Dodson, 84, retired secretary for Occidental Petroleum, died Friday, February 25, 2022 at her residence in Columbia.
Born August 16, 1937 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late James Kendrick Biffle and the late Lillie Pearl Kincade Biffle.
On October 16, 1964, she married William G. Dodson who preceded her in death on June 9, 2007.
She was a 1955 graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended Columbia Business College at Columbia State Community College. Mrs. Dodson was a member of Maury Hills Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty James, Doris Kiregel, Grace Doering, Patsy Kennedy, Elese Richardson, Jack Biffle, Larry Biffle, and Bryon Biffle.
Survivors include her son, Jason Bryan “Jay” Dodson of Columbia; stepson, Michael Bryon (Rita) Dodson of Nolensville; stepdaughter, Dianne Schroder; step-grandson, Stephen Schroder; sisters, Beverly Collins of Mt. Juliet; and Sue Haynes of LaVergne; and special friend, Joe “Chester” Sullivan; and special companion, Harliegh.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Russ Adcock officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. -7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Steve Richardson, Mike Bone, Jeff Garrett, Jimmy Karigel, Kenny Hanes, and Jerry Sharp. Honorary pallbearers include Donald “Duck” Sharp, members of Maury Hills Church of Christ, and Columbia Central High School Class of 1955.
