Evelyn Holeman Sharp, age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at The Bridge at Columbia Assisted Living.

Evelyn was born August 23, 1926 in Clarksville, TN to the late Roy Holeman and Mayme Frey Holeman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Tom Clayton Sharp, Jr and her brother, James Neal Holeman Sr. and nephew James Neal Holeman, Jr.

Evelyn graduated from Clarksville High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She was a registered nurse having graduated from St. Thomas Hospital Nursing School in the US Cadet Nurse Corps program. Evelyn worked for St. Thomas Hospital and for Nashville Memorial Hospital.

She was a Past President of the Tennessee Pharmacist’s Association’s (TPA) Women’s Auxiliary, where her husband, Tom, was Executive Director for thirty years. Evelyn and Tom were 2 of the 42 original founding members of St. James The Less Episcopal Church in Madison, TN in 1958. She loved attending TPA conventions and University of Tennessee football games.

Evelyn was an excellent cook, having been featured in The Nashville Banner for her famed Danish pastries. She also had a strong interest in the card game, bridge, and held numerous bridge parties over the years at her home. Her generous spirit, strong integrity and passion for family have been passed down to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children Marilyn Sharp Webster (Tom), Columbia; and Tom C. Sharp III (Jennifer) Knoxville; her two grandchildren, Thomas Crosby Webster, IV (Jane Ann), Spring Hill & Jonathan Sharp Webster (Kristin), Nolensville; three great-grandchildren, Mary Campbell Webster, Elizabeth Hazelton Webster and Kathleen Coleman Webster; two step-great-grandchildren Jacqueline Marie Karp and Shelby Anne Karp.

Services will be at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Columbia, TN on Friday, August 5 with visitation at 3:00 P.M. and a service following at 4:00 P.M. Internment at St. John’s Episcopal Church Ashwood in Mount Pleasant, TN will occur after the service.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Thomas C. Sharp Jr Scholarship, University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Office of Development and Alumni Affairs, 62 South Dunlap, Suite 500, Memphis, TN 38163.

The family would like to thank the compassionate and loving staff at The Bridge at Columbia Assisted Living for the wonderful eight years of care and Hospice Compassus at the end of her life.
