Gerald C. “Jerry” Hardison, 87, owner and operator of Jerry’s Market, died Friday, January 13, 2023 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born October 16, 1935 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Reece Hardison and the late Lela Naomi Brown Hardison.
He was a 1953 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served in the United States Army. An avid outdoorsman and mentor to many, Mr. Hardison enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and coaching baseball.
For many years he ran the Pillow Park Concession stand. As well as helping raise Gail, Ronnie, and Steve; he cared deeply for all of his family. He also had many friends at Doug’s, who he enjoyed spending time with. Mr. Hardison attended Graymere Church of Christ.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Cora Hardison of Randallstown, Maryland; and many friends throughout the state of Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Tyler Brown officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
