James Gregory Ivie, age 59, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

Greg was born on September 21, 1963 and he was raised by two loving parents, Rufus Collier and Kathryn Jane Jackson.

Greg graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1981, and then briefly attended MTSU, where he studied engineering. While in high school, he played basketball and golf and played the trombone in the Mount Pleasant High School Band. His love for golf also spilled over into his adulthood as he was an avid golfer for many years and worked as a groundskeeper for the Mount Pleasant Country Club. Greg was a skilled mechanic who enjoyed working on cars. He loved riding motorcycles throughout his life and most recently enjoyed riding his new Kawasaki.

Greg had a kind and patient soul. He was a wonderful caretaker for many people in his life including his parents, his aunt, and close friends. He loved to help people. He was a loving son and brother and will be deeply missed by all.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents: Buck and Jane Jackson, and biological father: Kaiser Ivie.

Greg is survived by his sisters: Suzanne Crenshaw (Ben), Rosemary Cothran (Ray), and Stephanie Robinette (Hunter); nieces and nephews: Nate Crenshaw, Lucas Crenshaw, Nina Crenshaw, Chase Cothran, Mason Cothran, Ava Cothran, Jackson Robinette, and Justin Robinette; and aunts: Faye Ivie and Lillie Jackson.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Arlington Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.

The family would like to thank the Critical Care Staff at Maury Regional Medical Center for the care that was given to Mr. Greg.
