Judith Ann Shearin, 64, resident of Columbia, and Loan Processor for Mortgage Investment Group, passed away November 21, 2023 at her home.
Born July 25, 1959, in Chicago Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Algis Packauskas and the late Roma Rainys Packauskas, who were Lithuanian immigrants.
Judith was a passionate gardener, she took pride in tending to her beautiful flowers and shrubs around the sanctuary that was her home. An avid reader, her favorite books were those that were enjoyed beachside, while listening to the ocean, and laying underneath the tropical sun.
Possessing a deep appreciation for music, she enjoyed concert going with her daughter when shows would come to town. Judy’s catalog was known to range anywhere from AC/DC to Al Green, from Bon Jovi to Chris Stapleton, from The Temptations to The Foo Fighters. No one could top her favorite however, and that was KISS.
More than anything, she relished spending time with close friends and family, and nothing made her happier than being JuJu to her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (James) Theesfeld, son; Johnny Shearin; and grandchildren, Westin Theesfeld and Everly Theesfeld.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tara Kowalski; and a brother, Anthony Packauskas.
Lastly, Judy fought and came out triumphantly ahead of her battle with breast cancer, in which she was delivered the uplifting news of being cancer free earlier this year. Family requests donations to Breast Cancer Society made in Judy’s honor, if so wished, https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/?form=donate.
Oakes and Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family. No services are scheduled at this time. Online condolences may be submitted at www.oakesandnichols.com.
