Martha Kinzer Lord, age 81, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 after a long illness.
She was born June 17, 1942 in Maury County to the late Easom Caldwell Kinzer and the late Margaret Hamilton Kinzer.
Martha graduated from Maury County Public Schools and attended Middle Tennessee State University where she met her husband, they were married on September 11, 1966. Martha accompanied her husband and supported his careers in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy as the perfect companion.
Mrs. Lord was a professional secretary working for Tennessee Farm Bureau, Columbia State Community College, for a bank in Georgia and real estate in Tennessee, the Department of the Navy in human resources in Japan, St. Lawrence University in New York, the Office of Naval Research in Washington D.C. and eventually Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia.
Martha is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth P. Lord, 3rd LCT USA (R) of Williamsport; adopted daughter, Jennifer Lord Baumgartner of Old Hickory, TN; a sister, Susan Kinzer Ivey of Columbia, TN; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an adopted son Kenneth Brian Lord.
A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at Williamsport United Methodist Church with Reverend Donna Higginbotham officiating. Burial will follow in Williamsport Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at the Church.
