Barbara Lucile Stewart, age 80, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 11, 1943 in Maury County, Tennessee, Barbara was the daughter of the late John Samuel Page and the late Alice Lucile Parker Page.

For 24 and one-half years, she was employed at Maury Regional Medical Center as a Certified Nurse Tech in the Pediatrics department, touching countless lives with her gentle care and unwavering dedication to her patients and colleagues.

Outside of her professional career, Barbara found joy in the art of creation. She spent her spare moments crafting jewelry, showcasing her talents at various craft shows. Barbara’s kind heart and generous spirit were evident in all aspects of her life.

She was known for her warmth, her love of children, her infectious laughter, and her willingness to always lend a helping hand to those in need. Among her many loves were her two cherished companions, Tinker and Lilbit, her beloved cats who brought her endless joy and companionship. Barbara was a faithful member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Jane (Bobby) Childress of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Douglas Willbanks, Lois Gibbs, Jody McFarland, Shayne McFarland, Bo Farmer, Samantha Farmer and Tommy Farmer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claudie Stewart; sister Joeann Willbanks and Azzaline Page; and brother, Roger Page.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Cynthia McGowan officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of NHC Maury TCC and staff of Morning Pointe.
